Andy Warhol: Silver Clouds Copy

Ongoing

'Silver Clouds' is an immersive and touch-friendly exhibition featuring over seventy-five metallic balloons by the famed icon of American Pop Art Andy Warhol (1928-1987) Inflated with a custom-made mixture of air and helium, the clouds neither stick to the floor, nor float to the ceiling, but hover in mid-air. This shimmering spectacle is made from Scotchpak, an inexpensive silvery film that can be heat sealed to package items such as food and medicine. Like much of Warhol's artistic practice, 'Silver Clouds' married the ordinary with the beautiful, the everyday with the exquisite, and challenged traditional views of what art is and can be, and how each of us interact with it. If you have ever wanted to handle a work of art by an internationally renowned artist, now is your chance - Warhol designed this experience to involve touch, and the museum encourages gentle play.
