Inspired Aging: Wellness and Creative Courage

November 2023 through January 2024

The Inspired Aging: Art and Wellness course brings to life the many ways mindfulness and creativity can both inspire and positively impact well-being. Over the span of eight weekly sessions, participants built a new foundation for being more present and compassionate in their daily lives. Together, they learned how to cultivate positive emotions and identify personal strengths. Each week, participants engaged in mindful art viewing practices focusing on Brooks’ permanent collection and special exhibitions. These viewings turned into lively discussions and concluded with process-focused art making of mandalas in the studio. A mandala is a symbol of one’s self and wholeness. This exhibition invites you to explore the mandalas the group created on this unique journey of self-discovery, self-expression, and creative courage.
